April 24, 2006 journal, a spy speaks out as head
of European central intelligence agency. CIA Tyler Drumheller
told 60 minutes Ed Bradley that the war was coming regardless of
intelligence. Continued
from yesterday's journal the 60 Minutes report and truth about the weapons of
mass destruction. This
administration is coming apart by the pieces.
The Los Angeles Times today calls for the resignation of Vice President
Dick Cheney for activities unbecoming to a vice president. I say they all must
go because they are all guilty of crimes. Now continue in their report of Tyler
Drumheller as broadcast by CBS 60 Minutes today. Drumheller says he
didn't think it mattered very much to this administration what their intelligence
community had to say. "I think it mattered if verified. This basic belief
that had taken hold in the U.S. government that now is the time, we
had the means, all we needed was the will", he says. The road to war in Iraq took some strange turns-none
stranger than a detour to the West African country of Niger, in late 2001, a month after 9*1*1,
the United States got a report from the Italian intelligence
service that said Iraq had bought 500 tons of so-called
yellowcake uranium in order to build a nuclear bomb. But Drumheller says
many CIA analysts were skeptical. "Most people came to the opinion that
there was something questionable about it", he said. Ask if that was his
reaction, Drumheller, says, "That was our
reaction from the very beginning. The report didn't hold together". Drumheller says
that was the general feeling in the agency at the time. How-ever, vice president Dick Cheney thought
the story was worth investigating. And
ask the CIA not to discount the story without first taking a closer look. So,
in February 2002, the agency sent former ambassador Joseph Wilson to Niger to investigate. "If Saddam had
acquired 500 tons of yellowcake uranium in violation of U.N. sanctions, that
would be pretty serious, wouldn't it?" Bradley asked Wilson.
"Absolutely. Certainly. And the fact that there was an allegation out
there he was even attempting to purchase 500 tons of uranium was very serious,
because it essentially meant that they were restarting their nuclear programs",
Wilson's replied. Wilson spent 8 days in Niger looking for signs of a secret deal
to send yellowcake to Iraq. He spoke to government officials
who would have known about such a transaction.
No one did. There had been a
meeting between the Iraqis and Nigerians in 1999 but Wilson was told uranium had never been
discussed. He also found no evidence
that Iraq had ever been interested in buying
uranium. “I concluded that it could not
have happened" Wilson says. And the end of his eight days' stay in Niger, Wilson says he had no lingering
doubts. When he returned, Wilson told the CIA what he had
learned. Despite that, some intelligence
analysts stood by the Italian report that Iraq’s Saddam Hussein had purchased
uranium from Niger.
But the director of the CIA and the deputy director did not buy it. In
October, when the president's speech writers tried to put the Niger uranium story in a speech the
President was scheduled to deliver in Cincinnati, they intervened. In a phone call and 2 faxes to the Whit* H*use,
“they warned the African story is overblown and the evidence is weak". The
speech writers then took the uranium reference out of the speech”. Tyler Drumheller
retired from the CIA one year ago. It is
the agenda of the neo conservative rulership of this
country to go to war and one excuse is as good as another. It is the workings
of Antichrist destroying this nation of God's people. The Christian right have been invaded by the
misconception of religious fanaticism falsely promoting the Edomite
Zionist as God's favorite people. We
will suffer in the days that are to come as we find a reason to attack Iran and elevate this war into
Armageddon. The hearts of people must
separate themselves from this ungodly world including false religion.
